Enhanced scoring precision, author insights, and performance boosts among the enhancements

At Siensmetrica, our mission is to make scientific research more trustworthy through transparent, explainable, and rigorous evaluation. Today, we are excited to roll out a series of updates to the Tessa platform designed to deliver faster performance, deeper author contextualization, and an even more precise appraisal of scientific literature.

Here is what’s new in Tessa today:

Major Updates

  • Refined TScore Weights: We’ve upgraded our core scoring algorithm to better align with true research quality. Following extensive data analysis, we identified that author legacy metrics had negligible impact on a specific paper’s methodological validity. We have removed the Author sub-score and reallocated that weight directly into methodological rigor, citation integrity, and data-backed conclusions. The result is a sharper, more objective evaluation of the science itself.
  • New Author Reports: While author metrics no longer skew the paper’s overall TScore, context still matters. Clicking any author’s name in the Journal & Authors section now generates a dedicated Author Report featuring:
    • A searchable index of their published literature.
    • An index tracking works cited 10 or more times.
    • A direct link to their Google Scholar profile for extended review.

Key Enhancements

  • Expressions of Concern Tracking: The Tessa Summary now flags formal editorial “Expressions of Concern,” giving you immediate visibility into post-publication data or analysis alerts.
  • Faster Processing Times: Platform-wide performance optimizations mean faster Summary Analysis turnaround times.
  • Upgraded Zotero Integration: Enhanced sync capabilities make pulling and analyzing papers directly from your personal or team Zotero libraries smoother than ever.
